In 2022, Regional Advocacy & Communications and PFP-RSC teams worked on a Business to Business (B2B) communication toolkit with Red Havas. The toolkit was drafted to support PSFR countries and the RO to develop strategies to communicate better with a business audience. The toolkit includes guidance on media approaches (business); social media engagement (LinkedIn, X) and speaking opportunities (regional conferences).
To implement this work, regional LinkedIn profiles were initiated at the end of 2022. To continue its outreach to business prospects and High-Value donors, digital communications consultant will be assigned to monitor and manage those and other social media profiles to further position UNICEF as thought leader and a partner of choice and to strategically raise awareness and engage business audience on child rights.
Also, the consultant will support the inclusion of our advocacy priorities from a CRB perspective to ensure that we can urge business partners, and the business ecosystems, to improve their practices to respect and promote children rights.
Work assignment and deliverables:

During the consultancy period, under the direct supervision of the Regional Digital Communication Specialist, Corporate Alliances Manager and Specialist, the digital consultant will undertake the following tasks:
โข Social media community monitoring and management focused on child rights, business and high-value donor audience.
โข Create, edit and/or author communication content targeted at a business and high-value donor audience with a primary focus on donor engagement, partnership development, child rights and business engagement, particularly for the Reginal Office (RO)โs X and LinkedIn channels (in collaboration with all teams across the RO).ย
โข Create, edit and/or author communication content for the Regional Director (RD)โs X and the Deputy Regional Director (DRD)โs LinkedIn social media accounts to position UNICEF as a thought leader.
โข Monitor and analyze online business trends and conversations to identify new spaces for engagement and thought leadership for UNICEF.
โข Monitor engagement and performance of UNICEF East Asia and Pacific (EAP)โs business and high-value donor content on social media platforms, particularly X and LinkedIn, and make recommendations to improve reach and engagement.
โข Execute social media campaigns related to UNICEF EAPโs High Value Marketing and B2B strategy (High Value donor outreach) and child rights and business (CRB).
โข Where relevant, showcasing of events related to Partnership engagement with Corporate and Philanthropists (e.g., campaigns, high level meetings) and CRB events (Human Rights Regional Forum, ICT Forum, Care Forum, etc.)
โข Participate in the UNICEF digital community of practice and share lessons learned and best practices that are applicable to COs in the region, particularly PSFR countries.
โข Ensure full alignment with the regional communication and advocacy strategy, particularly the regional web strategy, and harness linkages and synergies with other UNICEF owned media primarily used for thought leadership including evidence pieces and blogs by technical experts
โข Analyze comparators and activities based upon identified information and best practices.
โข Contribute to design communication plans for regional high value partnerships, leveraging existing digital channels (RO LinkedIn, RD X and DRD LinkedIn).
1. Assignment: Draft and execute an annual content plan as approved by Regional Digital Communication Specialist for a business and high-value audience as an integral part of the ROโs overarching content plan and in line with the ROโs annual planner.
Expected deliverable 1: Compelling business and high-value donor content to support the expanded reach and engagement across RO social media channels and website, as well as supporting the development of impactful strategies to promote CRB priorities to position UNICEF as a thought leader.
2. Assignment: Draft and execute content for the RDโs X and DRDโs LinkedIn accounts.
Expected deliverable 2: Well-managed senior management social media accounts that further UNICEFโs thought leadership and create opportunities for direct engagement with partners and for positioning UNICEFโs CRB priorities.
3. Assignment: Manage and grow the regional LinkedIn account
Expected deliverable 3: To scale up our regional LinkedIn presence with compelling content and increase followers (to 10,000) and engagement (to 100,000) by May 2026, noting the volatility of social media channels and their engagement algorithms and recognizing external limitations which may affect these targets).

Demonstrated experience in social media campaign development in professional settings, preferably in a humanitarian or not-for-profit environment, including but not limited to LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram Demonstrated track record of writing, editing, and crafting compelling and audience-informed content for social media Experience with managing social media profiles of senior leaders and/or other B2B digital engagement is highly desired Experience in community management Ability to analyze and interpret and act on audience data from Google Analytics and LinkedIn insights.
