ย ย Job Purpose and Organizational Context
UNDP Mongolia is looking for a creative and dynamic Communications intern to work with the UNDP Communications Analyst and Programme team to further strengthen UNDP Mongoliaโs digital presence and digital communications. UNDP Mongolia Communications Intern will play supporting role in maintaining and managing digital communications channels.ย
This is an ideal position for someone who understands the โins and outsโ of the 21st century communication, digital communications, media and public relations. You donโt have to be a development professional โthat is something we can teach and help you โgrow intoโ. What you will have to bring is a pro-active approach, professional curiosity and willingness to spend time to understand what development it is about and how applies to Mongolia. To do your job effectively, we require strong English and Mongolian language skills including, verbal presentation and writing.ย In addition, you should be able to understand complex information and convert it to simple but impactful communication messages and outreach.ย

Under the overall guidance and supervision of Communications Analyst, the intern is expected to provide a day-to-day support to the UNDP Country Office and Programme Team. He/she will carry out the following specific tasks and responsibilities:
Maintaining and updating of the UNDP Mongolia website in English and Mongolian.ย Developing social media contents to improve the engagement and reach of the UNDP Mongolia channels. Maintaining and updating social media channels (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) with contents approved by the Communications Analyst including procurement notices. Preparing and disseminating daily media briefing for the Country Office team in English upon scanning local news. Writing and sending Country Office newsletters bi-monthly upon review and approval by the Communications Analyst. Developing and providing social media analytics monthly. Attending internal meetings and contribute to the planning and monitoring of communications activities. Providing administrative and logistics support in the organization of online and in-person meetings, conferences, workshops, and trainings as needed.ยCompetencies

This internship assignment can also be completed as part of national service obligations or a postgraduate professional traineeship program. UNDP will provide a stipend in the monthly amount of USD 223.07 (in-person rate) in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP Internship policy.ย Except for the stipend, all other expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern or her/his sponsoring entity.
