The Position:
Under the direct supervision of the Representative and the Strategic Communications and Advocacy Expert of UNFPA Angola, the intern will support the team in the areas of partnerships, advocacy, and sustainable financing for UNFPAโs three transformative results.
A work-plan with achievements for the duration of the Internship and learning opportunities will be agreed upon. Periodic progress meetings will lead to a beneficial environment for the Intern enhancing her/his skills and capacity in areas related to UNFPAโs mandate.

Duties and Responsibilities ย Support preparation, implementation, and follow-up of the 1st edition of advocacy event on obstetric fistula in Angola. Contribute to other UNFPA Angolaโs major advocacy events, such as preparation and organization of a workshop withย parliamentarians on family planning,ย the signature and launch of FP30 commitments in Angola, private sector engagement, and other emblematic days/ events according to the officeโs communications and advocacy plan 2025-2026.ย ย ย Support the office in contributing to the development and implementation of a sustainability financing strategy and accompanying communications/ advocacy strategy to advance Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (e.g.creating a financing landscape, value propositions, cost recovery, social marketing, and private sector engagement), including for the fistula house, Menstrual Hygiene Management /sewing roomsโ initiative, and other initiatives implemented through UNFPAโs support.ย ย ย Assist the communication team in drafting publications, social media inputs, human interest stories, promotional brochures, and other communication materials (including visual, audio visual, etc). Assist the communications team in organizing programmatic events, visits, and advocacy or visibility actions, as well as media campaigns aroundย emblematic days.ย Assist in any other tasks that support communications, visibility, advocacy actions/ events, and resource mobilization/ from funding to financing.ย ย Competenciesย <Enter Competencies here>
ย Required Skills and Experience
ย Education:
University of post graduate degree in human rights, public health, gender, communications, international relationships, governance, business administration, and other relevant areas of the UNFPAโs mandate (currently enrolled or recent graduate- see below educational requirements for internship).ย
Has completed a bachelorโs degree recently (within five years)ย Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as masterโs programme or higher); Has recently graduated a Masterโs or post-graduate degree (within maximum five years of graduation)ย Experience:Some experience in working with development agencies, including in volunteer capacity. Experience of internship orย volunteer work withย UN agencies is considered a plus.
