The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is seeking a highly motivated Capacity Building Associate to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of capacity building programs and contribute to policy-oriented research on critical development issues. The role will focus on priority areas such as: sustainable development, trade, regional cooperation and integration, digital transformation, social development, and food security.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and delivering capacity building programs, workshops, and training sessions
- Support the development of program content, including agendas, speeches for senior staff, presentations, and learning materials
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth program execution.
- Contribute to policy-oriented research and knowledge products related to ADBIโs program priorities.
- Manage logistical arrangements for events, including engagement with government officials and experts in the Asia and Pacific region, and follow-up activities.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes and prepare reports for internal and external dissemination.
- Maintain databases and documentation for capacity building activities.
- Provide administrative and operational support for the Capacity Building department, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities and program coordination.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental objectives.
Requirements
- Masterโs degree or doctoral studies (completed or graduating in March 2026) in a discipline related to economic and social development
- Good organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills on policy issues related to development and capacity building
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and oral English
Appointment Term
ADBI Associates are engaged as independent contractors in a personal capacity for a limited term. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension based on performance. The maximum duration of service is two years. Please note that social insurance benefits are not provided.
Associates are not considered officers or staff of ADBI. They work under the direct supervision of ADBI professional staff and the overall guidance of the department head.
