Mission and objectivessocialprotection.org is an online, member-based, knowledge-sharing and capacity-strengthening platform, open to social protection practitioners, policymakers, and experts, as well as academics and students. The platform was launched on 12 September 2015, answering to a recommendation from the G20 Development Working Group in the aftermath of the triple crisis of the late 2000s to foster global knowledge-sharing on social protection policies. Thanks to the contributions of its members, collaboration with stakeholders, and the dedication of the socialprotection.org team, it directs access to the most up-to-date and comprehensive content on social protection, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. It provides free access to a plethora of interactive features, such as searchable databases of social protection publications, blogs, news, events, multimedia, databases, social protection programmes and legal and policy frameworks. Members can join Online Communities dedicated to prominent social protection topics and exchange Knowledge and collaborate. They can also access innovative learning tools, such as online courses, podcasts, webinars, livestream events, and be informed of the latest job and academic opportunities available in the field. In addition, the platform allows for members to contribute to the platform by submitting social protection-related content.

Contextsocialprotection.org (hosted by UNRISD) socialprotection.org is an online member-based knowledge sharing and capacity building platform. The platform, currently hosted by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), was established in response to a recommendation from the G20 Development Working Group following the triple crisis of the late 2000s, aiming to foster global knowledge sharing on social protection policies. Thanks to the contributions of its members, collaboration with stakeholders, and the dedication of the socialprotection.org team, the unbranded platform directs access to the most up-to-date and comprehensive content on social protection, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. Task DescriptionIn order to provide support and guidance to participants of the socialprotection.org Ambassadors Programme, while increasing interaction between them, we are selecting former Ambassadors (preferably) to integrate the programme as group leaders. Each selected volunteer (up to 4) will support a group of up to 5 ambassadors according to the following dynamics: โ€ข 1st CYCLE (2,5 weeks): Completing micro-courses on social protection provided by the platform and submitting feedback. โ€ข 2nd CYCLE (5-6 weeks): During the second cycle, volunteers will be divided into 3 groups: - Group A, one social media leader - producing social media material (e.g. voice drops interviews, one per Ambassador); - Group B, two blog post leaders - producing a blog post on a specific social protection topic (one post per Ambassador); - Group C, one social protection leader - mapping social protection resources LEADERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: - Supporting the Ambassadors in their activities, ensuring they meet the deadlines and reviewing their outputs before submission to socialprotection.org; - Promoting interaction within the groups, and assisting the socialprotection.org team in engaging the Ambassadorโ€™s throughout the programme; - Reporting any issues related to the programme/Ambassadors; - Creating a WhatsApp group for their supervisees; - Organising monthly meetings within their groups as necessary (in addition to attending the webinars organised by the platform); - Organising additional meetings, including individual ones, as necessary; and - Providing feedback on the Ambassadorsโ€™ performance to the socialprotection.org team. The meetings, which will occur on pre-defined dates, will serve to exchange experiences and align goals. IMPORTANT: Throughout the programme, leaders will be required to participate in synchronous meetings scheduled by the socialprotection.org team, and schedule meetings with their supervisees (approximately 6 meetings). Exact dates and times will be communicated in advance, but please refer to the following preliminary schedule: โ€ข Before the programme starts o April 1st: introductory meeting for leaders โ€ข 1st Cycle: April 21 or 22 โ€“ May 7 o April 21 or 22: Kick-off meeting o Group meeting to be scheduled by the group leader during the first week of the cycle o April 28: Coffee Break 1 โ€“ Informal gathering with the socialprotection.org team, featuring tips on job searching, including CV and cover letter writing โ€ข 2nd Cycle: May 8 or 9 โ€“ June 16 or 17 o May 8 or 9: Kick-off meeting o Group meeting to be scheduled by the group leader during the first week of the cycle o May 19: Coffee Break 2 โ€“ Informal gathering with the socialprotection.org team, featuring insights on career paths o June 06: Submission deadline for the social media products (Group A) and resources mapped (Group C) o June 13: Submission deadline for the final version of the blog post (Group B) o June 16 or 17: Final meeting/Programme conclusion DEADLINE FOR APPLYING: MARCH 31 The online volunteer will work remotely at a time and location of their convenience, subject to the deadlines set. Those who successfully conclude the programme will have their profiles featured on socialprotection.org Ambassadorโ€™s page and receive a UNV certificate. The team will assign selected volunteers to lead the above-mentioned tasks according to their experience.
