About this position
The Department of Southern Cone Countries (CSC) is responsible for the strategic, programmatic and operational relationship with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Likewise, the Department fulfills the function of coordinating and facilitating so that the corporate and operational activities and processes are duly integrated and attended to in the administrative bodies of the institution, including the Board of Directors, Senior Administration and the different departments of the IDB Group (IDBG). The Department is also responsible for the macroeconomic monitoring of the countries and the generation of knowledge on strategic and operational issues.
What youโll do:
Operational management:
Support the preparation cycle of project completion reports (PCRs).Support the monitoring and analysis of country and regional technical cooperation, as well as identification and prioritization of technical cooperation to support the strategic work of Management.
Support the process of identifying co-financing opportunities for sovereign guaranteed operations.
Communications and knowledge:
Support processes of preparation and publication of economic and operational knowledge products.
Corporate support:
Support the management of administrative processes throughout the project and knowledge generation cycles, including hiring consultancies related to these topics.
Prepare briefings and presentations.
Coordinate/support with the organization of operational or knowledge events.
What you'll need
Education: masterโs degree (or equivalent) in economics, administration, finance or related fields, preferably with postgraduate studies in economics, public policy and/or management of economic development programs and projects.
Experience: Experience of at least 3 years in public policy management and development programs in public administration and/or international development organizations. Experience of at least 3 years in database management. The applicant must have excellent analytical and strategic skills, as well as verbal and written communication. The position requires skills in managing multiple demands and priorities, and the ability to respond under pressure. Languages: Proficiency in two of the following languages: Spanish, English or Portuguese.

Requirements
Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
