    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

    The position of Associate IT Officer (Platforms and Systems) is assigned to the Infrastructure and Technology Division (ITID) within the Information Technology Department (ITD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

    You will report to the designated Technical International Staff and Officer (as applicable).

    Your Role

    As an Associate IT Officer (Platforms and Systems), you will oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server environments; manage system updates, security, hardware, and data centers; administer Active Directory and DNS; handle Azure cloud management; provide financial application support; develop infrastructure automation; ensure security and compliance; collaborate with teams; and support disaster recovery procedures.

    You will:

  • Provide Windows server support by setting up, managing, and supporting Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022; monitor performance and troubleshoot issues
Manage system updates & security by applying patches, updates, and security configurations to maintain system integrity Oversee hardware & data center management by setting up, installing, and managing hardware across data centers Administer Active Directory & DNS, managing user accounts, group policies, and troubleshooting DNS configurations Handle Azure cloud management, deploying and managing Azure virtual machines, services, and Azure Active Directory Offer financial application support, providing technical assistance for financial applications and collaborating with developers/vendors for updates and enhancements Contribute to infrastructure automation by developing automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) and integrating them into DevOps pipelines Ensure security & compliance by implementing security best practices, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to regulations and policies Foster collaboration with teams to ensure smooth integration of systems

Qualifications

You will need:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or relevant fields, preferably with advanced training. Significant achievement or experience in relevant domains may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in different Infrastructure technologies support and administration Administration and technical support experience in Windows Server OS: 2016, 2019 and 2022 Experience using infrastructure technologies: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SFTP, SMB, NFS, SSH and any monitoring tools Familiarity in financial applications: IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic, Java-based apps and any vendor based financial application support Experience with the following applications is beneficial, but not mandatory: Summit, Numerix OneView, Bloomberg FX Rates, Refinitiv Deal Tracker & Analyzer, FIS Intellimatch, Investment, Risk and Settlements Applications, Credit Risk Management Systems, Treasury Risk Management Systems, and Point-of-Sale Systems Basic knowledge of how applications communicate with databases such as MS SQL Server and Oracle DB (all versions) Familiarity with virtualization products such as vSphere (all versions), SRM & vRealize Operations, and Nutanix AHV technologies Proficiency in automation tools like PowerShell, Ansible, Python, and Azure DevOps. Knowledge of cloud technologies, including Azure Administration & Services, networking, virtual machines, and other Azure services such as PaaS and Blob Storage Experience with networking protocols and processes including cyber security Written and verbal proficiency in English Please refer to the link for ADB Competency Framework for Technical Local Staff grade 4

Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This position is funded by a temporary funding source (e.g., a trust fund, financing facility, or capital expenditure budget) and therefore, the renewal of the appointment and its duration are subject to the availability of the funding source.

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew, initially for a period of up to 3 years, or up to the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes earlier, for the purpose(s) and conditions determined by ADB, in accordance with Administrative Order No. 2.01 (Recruitment and Appointment). After the initial fixed-term period, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for up to an additional 3 years or not renewed. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB, based on factors including but not limited to the requirement of Staff's particular blend of skills and experience for the medium-term work program of the organizational unit, sufficient funding to cover the renewed period, and Staff's performance and suitability for employment. There is no limit to the number of renewals up to NRD. However, this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
