The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center is seeking a talented candidate to join its headquarters in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka, as an Assistant Stores Officer.

The Assistant Stores Officer is responsible for coordinating with the Stores Officer to ensure smooth, productive, and efficient day-to-day material and property operations at IWMI HQ and other regional offices, as well as fostering cooperation with all members of the institute's staff, interns, consultants, and other service providers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in checking and receiving the institute's day-to-day operational requirements accurately and maintaining the respective documentation for future inquiries. Maintain the safety and quality of store items by ensuring a clean, well-organized environment in accordance with relevant item codes. Assist inter-departments by releasing stationery, equipment, etc., for day-to-day operational needs in accordance with the institute\u2019s policy, maintaining relevant supporting documents, and updating the SAP system to meet reporting requirements. Accurately and effectively update day-to-day records of issued items, Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), internal transfers, and other items released on a loan basis. Additionally, report re-ordering requirements while maintaining the required lead time. Responsible for maintaining expiry dates appropriately and applying suitable issuing options upon release. Also responsible for reporting on such items to the relevant department prior to expiration to identify suitable alternatives. Assist in conducting the year-end physical stock verification by ensuring all coding requirements are met, arranging items appropriately, and updating the required records in the system. Assist in maintaining and updating the organization\u2019s fixed assets register and cooperate in conducting the annual physical assets verification process by ensuring all tagging requirements are met and updating custodians, office locations, and working conditions to fulfill auditing requirements. Assist in adhering to the institute's policy for assessing the operational status and performance of assets annually and effectively implementing suitable disposal or replacement processes.

Requirements

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential,

Successful completion of G.C.E. A/L (Advanced Level). Recognized diploma or bachelor\u2019s degree in logistics, supply, material management, or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent qualification. Minimum of one year of experience in a logistics or materials management environment, utilizing related activities within a reputable accounting ERP system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Essential,

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package, especially Word and Excel. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Benefits

This is a nationally recruited position and only Sri Lankan nationals will be considered. IWMI offers a competitive salary and benefits package, inclusive of health insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and long-term disability coverage. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
