The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center is seeking an innovative & multi skilled candidate to join its office in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka, as an Assistant Officer \u2013 Projects and Analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the finance review of donor and sub-recipient agreements, as well as any subsequent amendments. Moreover, the person will provide assistance in reviewing official requests to donors, governments and other organizations. Additionally, the assigned tasks include maintaining data to update the Grants Database in the CGIAR Financial data submission platform. Another crucial aspect of this position involves assisting in the preparation of financial reports for the projects falling under the Primary Manager's scope.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the finance review and approval of new project agreements (including the budget for full cost recovery) and subsequent amendments, preparing the Project Particular Document (PPD) budget as appropriate. Provide project/research finance support to various stakeholders within the institute. Assist in approving revisions to projects on various aspects such as budgets, budget reallocations, research collaborators/partnerships, financial reporting, etc. (amendments to the original donor agreement). Assist in the finance review of new sub-recipient/partnership agreements, MOUs, and subsequent amendments. Assist in maintaining financial data of IWMI (including Grant Database, yearly financial reports, etc.) in the CGIAR Financial data submission platform. Assist in the process of preparing financial reports for projects allocated under the Primary Manager\u2019s scope. Provide proper supporting documentation for financial transactions posted to the ERP system and maintain relevant communications in the SharePoint folders. Support the Primary Manager in handling various project audits. Assist the Primary Manager in responding to stakeholder queries by gathering relevant documents and submitting necessary calculations.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a Business-related discipline. Partial qualification in ICASL/ACCA/CIMA. One year of experience in accounting with exposure to data analytics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Proficiency in SAR ERP & MS Office Package with abilities in data analytics & reconciliation. Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for diversity. Ability to manage and prioritize work efficiently to meet multiple deadlines.

This is a nationally recruited position and only Sri Lankan nationals will be considered. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
