For external applicants, only those who are expected to complete the term of appointment will normally be considered. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the overall guidance of the Information Technology and Logistics Officer, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the incumbent will perform the following duties:

a) Analyse the requirement for the IPCC website in collaboration with the other Web Team, Working Groups and within the IPCC Secretariat; design and implement the changes to the website; provide training to new users and analyse website traffic and generate analytics;

(b) Participate as a team member in the software design, implementation and maintenance of IPCC application systems, software packages and systems integration; evaluate and upgrade existing applications according to the evolving business needs; support the team members in evaluating custom applications, off-the-shelf and open source products to adapt to the needs of the IPCC;

(c) Participate in the Web Team meetings and contribute to the work of the Web Team;

(d) Manage and support virtual IPCC meetings; periodically review platforms to evaluate based on the requirement of the IPCC Secretariat, the Technical Support Units (TSUs) and the Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (TFI);

(e) Provide IT support to the IPCC Secretariat staff, Bureau members, delegates and TSUs;

(f) Coordinate with International Computing Centre (ICC) to manage the website, upgrades, release of new applications and tickets;

(g) Carry out other relevant duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in computer science. A first level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience will be accepted in lieu of a Master's degree.
Experience
A minimum of two years of national and international experience in software development, analysis and design.
Other requirements
Excellent analytic skills and design of IT applications. Good understanding of, and experience with, frameworks and collaboration platforms. Good understanding of Content Management System (CMS) platforms and customization. Good knowledge of IT security for web-based applications. Familiarity with modern social media and collaboration channels. Ability to prepare and draft reports. Ability to work in a multicultural environment and to foster diversity and team spirit.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.) Possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years. SALARY AND ALLOWANCES
Annual net base salary on initial appointment is: US$ 43144
Annual post adjustment on initial salary is: US$ 34947 (in addition to the net base salary) Additional Information:
