About this position

The Research Department (RES) coordinates the Central Bank Adaptation to Climate Change initiative and the Network of Central Banks and Finance Ministries. Both operations engage directly with policymakers across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The climate initiative aims to build the capacity of central banks in eight LAC countries to address climate-related challenges by improving data sharing, fostering policy dialogue, strengthening research and knowledge dissemination, and supporting best practices in climate-related policymaking.

The Network, informally known as the Chief Economistsโ€™ Network, is a 30-year-old platform for high-level macroeconomic dialogue among central banks, finance ministries, global policymakers, and academics. Biannual meetings focus on global and regional economic developments and thematic policy discussions.

The consultant will act as assistant coordinator for both operations, working under the supervision of the respective team leaders. Approximately 75% of their time will be dedicated to the climate change initiative and 25% to the Chief Economistโ€™s Network, supporting coordination, planning, research, and stakeholder engagement.
