About the Department
The Finance Department supports MSF-USA in carrying out its mission in an effective, efficient, ethical, and accountable manner to its donors and the public at large by managing MSF-USA's financial, budgetary, and accounting practices. The Finance team consists of the following areas - Accounts Payable, Budget, Payroll, and Revenue - and is integrally involved in the Grants management process.
Role Overview
With supervision of the Revenue Manager, the Analyst, Revenue Operations will ensure the accurate recording,
analysis and reporting of donations and cash receipts in a timely manner. Responsible for ensuring that
all MSF financial assets are accurately reconciled and accounting records are maintained in a timely
manner. Responsible to ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP.
Department Accountabilities
Budgeting
Set, analyze, and monitor budgets in line with organization strategy; identify financial trends.
Treasury
Design, develop, and deliver treasury strategy and operations.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols
Develop financial guidelines and protocols in response to statutory and financial requirements.
Operational Compliance
Adhere to internal policies and procedures and external standards, including regulatory codes and voluntary codes of conduct, to minimize business risk and protect the organization's reputation.
Organizational Risk Management
Develop and/or deliver on activities to keep track of the organization's risk profile and limit the organization's exposure to undue risks.
Roles Specific Outcomes
Accounting
Maintain accurate accounting records and files, in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies and procedures, to ensure that information is auditable.
Financial Management and Control
Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.
Financial Reporting
Carry out analyses to contribute to the production of statutory and non-statutory financial reports and other disclosures.
Financial Policies, Guidelines, and Protocols
Assist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.
