5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.

ContextOnline volunteers will support one of the Sustainable Development Goals Artificial Intelligence Lab (SDG AI Lab) initiatives: Technology for Rescue, Response, Recovery and Resilience (Tech4R) initiative by creating a high-quality AI-generated video that tells the story of the initiatives' impact. Online Volunteers will help transform key messages, stories, and visuals into an engaging digital narrative that showcases how technology-driven volunteering supports resilience and innovation.

Task DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Regional Communications Analyst of UNV Eurasia, the Online Volunteer(s) will support the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ROECA) with communications reporting and visibility. ROECA is seeking four Online Volunteers to support the strengthening of the Regional Officeโ€™s media and visibility reporting. The online volunteers' responsibilities will include: Combining and editing 20 video clips (19 videos for 20โ€“30 seconds long and 1 video for 15-20 minutes long) into a single, clear, and engaging 60-90 second video. Removing unnecessary or repetitive content. Adjusting audio levels to ensure consistency and clarity. Adding background music that complements the video without overpowering the narration. Recording a brief introduction, explaining the purpose of the video. Writing and recording a closing voiceover that summarizes key points and encourages viewer interaction (e.g., like, comment, subscribe). Submitting the final edited video in a social media-friendly format (e.g., MP4, 1080p resolution).
