Organizational Setting

The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil โ Programme.
Technical Focus
To contribute out surveys, analyses and evaluations on the international participation of the MDA in fairs of interest to family farming and to identify and propose strategies to qualify family farming in these international spaces, with the objective of boosting the operation of family enterprises and the income of family farmers.
Tasks and Responsibilities
โข ย ย Carry out data and information collection to facilitate the internationalization of family farming production chains, promoting the image of products and services of these chains abroad through participation in international fairs;
โข ย ย Carry out diagnosis and analysis of the most appropriate international fairs to the production profile and export potential of family farming enterprises;
โข ย ย Systematize information on the Ministry's participation in international trade promotion events for the family farming production chains;
โข ย ย Prepare studies and analyses to support actions for the external trade promotion of products from family farming and agrarian reform settlers, with a view to external commercialization;
โข ย ย Develop models to improve the selection methodology of family enterprises interested in participating in international fairs promoted by the MDA;
โข ย ย Identify best practices and propose recommendations to increase the quality and competitiveness of family farming production chains;
โข ย ย Survey the possibilities of partnerships for technical training aimed at the international insertion of family farming enterprises;
โข ย ย Prepare reports and technical documents with recommendations to improve the participation of the MDA and family farmers in international fairs, considering cooperation strategies with public and private, national and international sectors.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING:ย
Minimum Requirements ย
โข ย ย University degree in Applied Social Sciences and Humanities, according to the CAPES/CNPq table of areas of knowledge.
โข ย ย Minimum proven experience of 8 (eight) years in foreign trade, international relations and productive inclusion for access to markets.
โข ย ย Working knowledge of English and Portuguese;
โข ย ย National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit
