Background\n\n\n\n
International Detention\nCoalition (IDC) is the world's leading network dedicated to ending immigration\ndetention. We are a global coalition, uniting civil society organisations,\ncommunity groups and individuals working to end immigration detention and\npromote non-custodial, rights-based alternatives to detention (ATD). We believe\nrefugees, migrants and all people on the move should be able to live freely\nwhile they await the outcome of their immigration case, and we advocate to\nsecure the human rights and dignity of all people impacted by and at risk of\nimmigration detention. To this end, IDC strategically builds movements and\ninfluences law, policy and practice to end immigration detention and to\nimplement ATD. Our goal is to ensure that human rights are respected in\nmigration systems. This includes community support, meeting basic needs like\nhealthcare, food and housing, and ensuring the right to work, access education\nand contribute to society. IDC is a highly recognised, impact-driven\norganisation, offering a stimulating workplace committed to local, national,\nregional and global change.\n\n\n\n
