5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Post of Duty: Guyana

The IDB Group is a community of diverse, versatile, and passionate people who come together on a journey to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our people find purpose and do what they love in an inclusive, collaborative, agile, and rewarding environment.

  • Compete Caribbean is a private sector development program that provides technical assistance to support productive development policies, business climate reforms, clustering initiatives, technology extension services and innovation in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs). The program, jointly funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office of the United Kingdom (FCDO), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Government of Canada, supports projects in 13 Caribbean countries.
  • The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) is a not-for-profit association which serves and represents Guyanaโ€™s tourism and hospitality sector. Our members include accommodation providers, restaurants and bars, tour operators, destination management companies, domestic and international air service providers, activities and attractions, publishers, jewelers, insurance agencies, commercial banks, tour guides, suppliers of goods and services, and tourism students.
  • THAGโ€™s Mandate and Mission is to promote and grow a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive tourism industry that expands tourism and economic development, by fostering professionalism throughout the industry, ensuring quality service and providing benefits to our members; while collaborating with relevant government institutions and networking with other related local, regional and international agencies, utilizing available resources.
  • To uphold and enhance THAG's position as the unified advocate championing policies, regulations, and essential support for the development of Guyana's tourism and hospitality industry, the secretariat requires support in formulating a business-oriented justification for every agenda item on the Association's advocacy calendar.
  • To fortify and broaden THAG's involvement in delivering and facilitating training and skill development opportunities customized to the requirements of the tourism and hospitality sector, funding proposals are sought for resources dedicated to capacity building.
