The General Macro and Fiscal (MF) Division of the IMF Institute for Capacity Development (ICD) has a vacancy for a Head Divisional Administrative Coordinator to work with three other coordinators.
The MF Division is responsible for overseeing the design, organization, and delivery of capacity development (CD) activities for various government institutions and officials in the Fundโ different Regional Capacity Development Centers, as well as at the IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. Specifically, the division designs training activities in macroeconomics and fiscal policy, including financial programming and fiscal sustainability, as well as technical assistance (TA) in macroeconomic frameworks, including financial programming and debt dynamics, and backstops ICD resident advisors at Regional Technical Assistance Centers. The division also works on related internal training for IMF economists through the Internal Economics Training (IET) program and collaborates on the preparation and oversight of on-line courses within its topical responsibilities.
The selected Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative oversight of the tasks being undertaken in support of the division's work with the three other coordinators. The selected candidate is expected to:
- Carry out all aspects of CD related divisional work, in support of the mission teams, including formatting memoranda, briefing materials, official correspondence (comprising text, tables, and charts) as well as training course and TA-related materials; and coordinating translation, proofreading, archiving and maintaining CD documents; maintaining data and running reports in various CD systems; organizing meetings and official events; and other tasks as appropriate.
- Interact with mission chiefs on training courses and TA projects, regional training center coordinators, other related divisions in ICD, various departments and officials from member countries to assist with the administration of training courses, seminars, and TA missions.
- Assist with mission planning and staffing, including independently interacting with (senior) economists in the department.
- Manage the Division Chiefsโ agendas and support their key responsibilities to help contribute to a smooth workflow within the division and department, as well as with other IMF departments and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to other divisional and departmental work, including working groups, social activities, and other special events.
- If selected as the head, manage the work of other Divisional Administrative Coordinators under the supervision of the Division Chief.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, is required. External candidates must have had at least two (2) of the six required years of experience in a lead role.
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the candidate must have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Very good organizational skills and the ability to work independently and be proactive.
- Proven strong administrative skills. Sound knowledge of the Fund's organization, practices, and procedures is an advantage.
- Strong technical skills. Advanced or intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is essential. Proficiency in HRPROD/FINPROD, Nexus, SharePoint, CDMAP and other software used in ICD would be desirable, and interest in learning ICD systems (Moodle, CDR, and others) is a must.
- Excellent command of English, in both oral and written communications is a requirement.
- Willingness to work occasionally overtime on short notice, as needed.
This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund's new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.

Candidates need to have passed the IMF Staff Assistant exam to be considered.
