5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) envision a more equitable world where trees in all landscapes, from drylands to the humid tropics, enhance the environment and well-being for all. CIFOR and ICRAF are non-profit science institutions that build and apply evidence to todayโ€™s most pressing challenges, including energy insecurity and the climate and biodiversity crises. Over a combined total of 65 years, we have built vast knowledge on forests and trees outside of forests in agricultural landscapes (agroforestry). Using a multidisciplinary approach, we seek to improve lives and to protect and restore ecosystems. Our work focuses on innovative research, partnering for impact, and engaging with stakeholders on policies and practices to benefit people and the planet. Founded in 1993 and 1978, CIFOR and ICRAF are members of CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food secure future dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources. A Consultancy โ€“ A Baseline Survey Consultant

Overview The International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) in cooperation with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) is implementing a research project on the adoption of innovative agroforestry approaches for holistic climate-resilience in the regions of Morogoro and Dodoma in Tanzania. A baseline survey will be conducted on 120 households in the study villages of the Scaling agroforestry for holistic climate resilience-building in rural Tanzania (SCARF) project. The goal of the SCARF project is to identify, pilot and improve innovative agroforestry approaches to accelerate the long-term uptake of farm-level adaptation practices in the agricultural sector. Many good agricultural practices that are implemented to support households vulnerable to climate change challenges fail because their design did either not consider the specific socio-economic conditions, gender-aspects and differing realities of the targeted groups or the biophysical conditions in the specific area of implementation and how climate change may alter those.
