Chemonics seeks a retention and transition specialist for the anticipated Department for International Development (DFID)-funded Punjab Education Program (PEP). PEP supports the government of Punjab, Pakistan to deliver equitable access to better-quality education through a range of interventions, including technical assistance to improve program delivery, capacity building to support institutional development, and policy reform. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a technical team focused on ensuring students successfully transition from primary to middle school and from middle to high school
  • Provide technical guidance on improving secondary education access, remedial learning, and informal learning
  • Coordinate with relevant government stakeholders and other teams to ensure coherence of project activities in improving education access and quality


  • Advanced degree in education or relevant field
  • Mid-level professional experience in the education sector in Pakistan or similar contexts at a minimum
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of secondary education access, remedial learning, and informal learning
  • Experience liaising with government officials and vulnerable groups, including women, children, and individuals with disabilities
  • Prior experience with DFID-funded projects highly preferred
  • Sector-specific experience in Punjab proving highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with improving education access and student retention
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required
