Position Description

The International Foundation ( is a Swiss, independent and not-for-profit foundation. The Foundation acts for a more equitable, responsible, inclusive and caring world. Its work is driven by a spirit of empathy and solidarity for those in need and distress. IF has a global reach and supports organizations working across 3 thematic areas: education, economic inclusion and health with a cross-cutting focus on woman.

The Foundation is seeking a highly motivated individual with a long-term vision to take part in the work related to the selection, grant-making and monitoring of the NGOs supported by IF around the world.

The Programme Manager will work closely with another Programme Manager and under the direct supervision of the Foundation’s Executive Director.

IF will provide a friendly working environment as well as opportunities for professional growth, professional travel across advanced and developing countries as well as network building.

Key responsibilities

Support the Executive Director/manage independently – if requested – the following tasks:

  • Sourcing and selection of high-impact non-profits globally

  • Grant-making

  • Impact monitoring

  • Portfolio Management

  • Prepare documents for Board meetings

  • Support the organization of workshops/IF related events

Required skills

  • Graduate from relevant University (preferred areas of expertise: social development, international development, social entrepreneurship, social finance).

  • Master degree/PHD is a plus.

  • Relevant working experience:

o 5 years of relevant work experience

o Philanthropy sector

o non-profit sector across both advanced and developing countries

o social impact across both advanced and developing countries

o field experience

o able to work independently and within a team

o organisational skills

o communication and writing skills

o highly motivated and accountable

Other requirements:

o Valid Swiss work permit

o Excellent command of English (spoken and written) and French

o Literate in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and cloud storage software


Compensation: Initial compensation is 4500 CHF/month.

This is a 50% position.

Duration of contract: 12 months after a 3 months probation period, renewable upon performance evaluation.

Office location: Central Geneva.
