RAFT Myanmar is an organization that since May 2015 has provided technical support to national and international organizations on effective peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity, including how to apply the Do No Harm framework. RAFT has developed training and technical support modules that focus on helping national and international actors, both public and private, better understand conflict dynamics in their work contexts and more systematically mitigate possible negative impacts of their program, and instead enhance their positive influence on social cohesion. Over the past four years, RAFT has also built up strong partnerships with a broad range of partners and a reputation as a go-to capacity for enhancing policies and practices that strengthens local capacities for peace.
RAFT Myanmar is seeking an organized and driven a Programme Director (PD) to join a team of highly motivated and skilled colleagues and play a key leadership role in taking RAFT’s programme and organization forward.
Responsibilities and Tasks
The PD is responsible for managing and coordinating the planning, implementation, and reporting of RAFT’s donor-funded grants, coordinating as required with the management group. The specific objectives of the position are to:
· Ensure effective management of RAFT’s programmes and projects
· Ensure sound financial management of projects and efficient resource allocation
· Actively participate in fundraising and donor relations
· Engage in external representation, networking, and advocacy
· Oversee and support organizational management processes
· Provide backup clerical support to the program team in the Sittwe office and reporting to HQ.
· Oversee and support administrative processes and procedures in Sittwe office
Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities
Minimum 5 years’ experience of international programme and project management, including managing multiple grants and relationships with donors with diverse agendas and compliance requirements
A proven record and experience of complex programme-related financial management
A deep understanding of Myanmar’s conflict and cultural contexts
A proven record of capacity development, training and facilitation skills
Excellent spoken communication skills necessary for advocacy and effective communication with diverse stakeholders
Excellent writing skills necessary for reports, policy briefs, etc.
Experience of working in multi-cultural teams in a complex context
Good networking and relationship management skills
