Manager of Human Resources – Think East Africa – Burundi

About the Role:

Think East Africa (TEA) is currently experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a dynamic and experiencedManager of Human Resources to join our Administration Team reporting to the Administrative Director. The Manager of Human Resources will help TEA To support and maintain Think East Africa’s Human Resources Strategy.

Location: Bujumbura, Burundi

Salary: Salary will be dependent on experience and capabilities

Core Responsibilities:

· Lead recruiting efforts to support Think East Africa needs

· Train and develop supervisors and managers to engage with recruiting, development and effective management

· Work with hiring managers to source, recruit, and retain high quality staff aligned with agency vision, mission, and values

· Manage new hire onboarding and training schedules

· Support hiring and budget plans for each Think East Africa department

· Advise managers on the interpretation/application of HR policies and procedures to ensure

· Support managers with employee performance development and improvement plans

· Manage employee benefits, annual renewals, and research of best options

· Ensure human resource management and staff guidelines are legally compliant and support Think East Africa’s mission

· Analyze and report on personnel data, performance, metrics, and trends to support decision-making and efficient operations

· Liaise with local legal counsel to consult on HR issues as needed

· Organize meaningful staff trainings to improve effectiveness

· Other duties as required by the organization to support ministry activities

Requirements for this position:

· Minimum of associate’s degree in relevant field

· At least 5 years’ experience of Human Resources in Burundi

· Proven Project Management Skills

· Excellent influencing & communication skills, both verbal and in writing

· Excellent time management and organization skills

· Experience in training and implementing organization-wide systems and processes

· Must currently have legal authorization to work in Burundi

· Professional fluency of Kirundi and English

· Proficiency with email, Excel and Word

· Ability to communicate with government offices and field partners

· Understanding of the need and benefit of clean water
