This position is located within the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) in Geneva, Switzerland. The Logistics Assistant will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Officer (SAO) of the IIMM.Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Logistics Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
•Responsibility for property and inventory control for IIMM;
•Manages the assets of the IIMM and ensures that office equipment and supplies are readily available to IIMM staff and personnel;
•Provides contract management support to Senior Administrative Officer.
•Verifies funding, bidding, evaluation and certifies invoices with respect to requisitions.
•Acts as primary focal point for the production of field mission cost estimates.
•Serves as the liaison for IIMM procurement needs and serves where necessary, as a member or Chair on Technical Evaluation Committees related to IIMM requirements;
•Undertakes research with respect to the preparation and compilation of technical specification and Scope of works.
•Prepares reports for the SAO and Head of IIMM on asset management, procurement timelines and schedules for review/approval
•Assists in the execution of technical evaluations for long and short-term contracts.
•Provides technical assistance and related costings with respect to IIMM requirements to the Budget Officer for inclusion in the IIMM budget;
•Maintains liaison with relevant departments and field missions with respect to the status of procurement, delivery, financial and insurance matters.
• Initiates requisitions and performs technical evaluations.
• Designs and develops relevant databases.
• Formulates and monitors budget allocations.
• Performs other duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent.Work Experience
A minimum of seven years’ of experience in supply management, contracts administration, logistics or related area is required, of which three years’ relevant experience in the United Nations Common System is desirable. Experience in procurement is desirable. Experience using Umoja ERP for procurement or logistics related actions is desirable. Experience in a field mission environment is desirable.Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.Assessment

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat.
