Job Description:

  1. Participates and contributes in all the assessments, planning, development,
    implementation, training, monitoring and evaluation activities that are related
    to health initiatives in the region.
  2. Identifies and develops appropriate health strategies and initiatives in the
    communities based on analysis and research done.
  3. Implements all related health initiatives in the region according to FHP
    standards and guidelines. The main approach to be implemented is the
    Cascade Group Approach.
  4. Ensures that health indicators are achieved in the health initiatives
    implemented in the communities.
  5. Ensures that the budget for health initiatives are properly managed, recorded
    and reported (with required documentation) according to FHP finance policies.

Group Formation and Capacity Building for staff and communities

  1. Organizes the formation of core group or cascade group volunteers (CGVs) in
    the selected communities.
  2. Maintains and updates the database for CGVs.
  3. Conducts assessment on capacity building needs related to health and
    identifies appropriate technical training and support based on the
    assessment.
  4. Conducts technical training (e.g. health modules) and provides support to
    other Field Staff and CGVs for effective implementation of health activities
  5. Contributes to the contextualization of relevant health materials, manuals etc.
    to be used in the region

• Ability to cooperate and work effectively with others in an emergency setting

• Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas, and
manage projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to motivate, influence,
and gain the support of others and to have effective collaborative working
relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Able to set out and
discuss complex issues clearly for a wide audience and to give presentations
in a fluent and persuasive manner to people at all levels.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team, including
experience with working collaboratively with representatives from other
organizations.
• Ability to work in difficult circumstances and in international, multi-cultural
environments.
• Ability to manage a budget.
• Fluent in English both oral and written required.
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Able to write a proposal
• In sympathy with Christian values

Education and Experience:
• College Graduate of any course relevant to the position, preferably Health
courses, such as Community health, Nursing, others.
• Preferably 3-5 years work experience in the same field
• Experience and expertise in training children and adults and different sectors.
• Able to command respect in the community

Supervisor Responsibilities:
• Officially none but this post provides guidance to Area Leaders and Cascade
Group Volunteers on health activities.

Language:
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Able to set out and
discuss complex issues clearly for a wide audience and to give presentations
in a fluent and persuasive manner to people at all levels.
• Fluent in English both oral and written required.
