STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
Language: General Service (Headquarters): Fluency (level C) in English language. Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official language may be required depending on the location of the post or area of responsibility.
General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureaux (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ), and report to the Head of Unit, Chief, Finance Officer, or the designate.
At this level job holders are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of finance/budget related processes and activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to other support staff.
To support effective delivery of finance, budget and administration support services in order to facilitate transparent and efficient utilization of financial resources.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
·Contribute to the overall coordination and implementation of WFP finance in the Province;
·Support processing and managing routine financial tasks in various functional areas, to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources;
·Be accountable for payments, petty cash management and financial reporting, jointly with the Head of Sub Office;
·Provide revision and proof-reading services for standard documents, to contribute to the development of accurate documentation
Perform other related duties as required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
·Knowledge and experience of the WFP or UN agencies and public sector especially on socio-economic development activities;
·Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing;
·Ability to work in a team, and establish effective working relation with person of different national and cultural backgrounds;
·Knowledge of spreadsheet software, such as Excel is an asset;
·Experience in Financial and Administrative systems, preferably relevant to specific area of development activities;
·Demonstrated capacity/hands-on experience in capacity building of field staff is desirable;
Willingness to work either at provincial, district and school level is desirable.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Contract Type: Service Contract
Duration: Six months (6) with possibility of extension subject to programme needs and perfomance.
