Have you ever wanted to run away and join the circus, but you didn’t have performance skills? Found yourself better at donor relations and fundraising than juggling, tumbling, clowning around??

We wanted to run away and join the circus, but we also wanted to make a difference in the lives of war-affected children, so we built a circus for children living with war and conflict in order to give them a better chance in life.

Now we are looking for someone with strong management and donor relations skills to help us take the Mini Mobile Circus for Children to the next level. We hope that you will see that we’re offering an opportunity to live your circus dreams without actually having to learn circus skills yourself (although in our spare time, we might to teach you some).

MMCC (Mobile Mini Circus for Children) is a Danish founded, International Nonprofit humanitarian NGO working with vulnerable children and youth affected by war. Through social circus and physical arts pedagogy we work to improve personal and social skills, heal trauma, and facilitate a sense of belonging. Local ownership and sustainability are key elements of our pedagogy. Since beginning in 2002, MMCC has touched the lives of 3.8 million children in Afghanistan and Bangladesh. As part of our 3 year strategic plan, MMCC is looking to expand activities to some of the largest refugee camps in the world. We need a Development Manager to help us realise this vision and take MMCC to the next level.

What would you do? We are looking for a Development Manager who is able to support and develop fundraising and sponsorship globally; who can write and submit proposals, develop relationships with potential donors, and help us achieve the level of financing needed to match our ambitions and achieve our growth strategy.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is motivated, results-oriented, and able to work flexibly across multiple time zones.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • A dynamic and resourceful person with experience in a communications and/or donor relations role, preferably in the non-profit sector.

  • Experience in proposal writing for international donors, EU, UN agencies and/or private foundations.

  • Experience developing or running sponsorship models and/or partnership-building. Ability to be creative and work independently.

  • Good networking and promotion skills.

  • Native English speaker or very high level of fluency in English.

  • Strong experience in developing and managing projects.

  • Knowledge of results-based management and the full project cycle.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Good knowledge and experience in social media and various digital tools.

  • Excellent coordination skills, including a strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Tasks:

  • Mapping possible funds/grants and creating an archive of funding information.

  • Developing a fundraising and sponsorship strategy tied to our strategic plan.

  • Producing presentations and promotion material.

  • Corresponding and meeting with the potential donors and sponsors to initiate collaboration.

  • Connecting the management with donors and sponsors and ensure proper development, writing and timely submission of proposals.

  • Assist with development and implementation of standard reporting format for MMCC’s programs abroad.

The ideal candidate would be able to work flexible hours and independently. While MMCC is headquartered in Kabul, we could support a Development Manager who is located anywhere in the world working remotely. The position could be a full or part time job (to be negotiated) with location anywhere (online) for one year with possible extension. Optional work space is available in Copenhagen, Denmark for those who have the legal right to work there. Some travel including a visit to Kabul is expected to be part of the position. Salary to be negotiated based on qualifications and agreed contract conditions.
