Chemonics seeks a Data analyst for the Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project in the Communications, Learning, Evidence & Analytics (CLEAR) Division located in our Arlington, VA office. The GHSC-PSM project is the primary vehicle through which USAID: 1) procures and provides health commodities; 2) provides technical assistance to improve partner countries’ management of the supply chain; and 3) collaborates with key international stakeholders to support global health initiatives. The Data Analyst supports evidence-based analysis, reporting, and learning and works to strengthen data systems to promote data quality, access, and transparency that enable GHSC-PSM to deepen and broaden analysis capabilities. The Data Analyst position is a unique opportunity to apply data analytics skills to influence decision-making. Our team’s analysis is often used by project leadership, USAID, State Department, and even Congress to make decisions about global health and supply chain programming.

Responsibilities include:

· Manage assigned reporting and analytics strategic initiatives, including stakeholder management and submission of deliverables

· Adapt or develop new methodologies to respond to new types of data analysis requests

· Follow and utilize existing analysis methods and tools to respond to frequently requested data analysis

· Investigate anecdotal evidence using rigorous and structured quantitative methodologies

· Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify underlying trends and opportunities for further analysis

· Contribute to regular reporting products, including quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports

· Collaborate with M&E, Data Quality, MIS, and other teams to ensure consistency and reliability in reporting

· Pursue innovative approaches, technologies, and uses for supply chain data

· Identify opportunities for automation, streamlining, and continual improvement in data systems

· Communicate findings effectively with internal and external stakeholders using data visualization, written and verbal communication, and other formats as appropriate

· Advocate for evidence-based decision making in headquarters, field offices, and USAID

· Promote transparency and accessibility of project data

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the immediate supervisor


· Bachelor's degree in business, data analytics, or related field required; Advance Degree preferred

· A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience required

· Ability to clearly and convincingly communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences verbally, in writing, and with visual display

· Experience with data visualization required

· Experience with SQL or other database language skills preferred

· Experience with supply chains and data analysis required

· Demonstrated application of advanced Excel skills including VBA required

· Experience with business intelligence software including but not limited to Tableau preferred

· Experience with statistical analysis packages including but not limited to STATA including regression analysis and modelling preferred

· Experience with USAID preferred

· Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, solve problems creatively, and work under tight deadlines

· Ability to integrate quickly into team and make immediate contributions

· Ability to work across teams

· Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

· Fluent English oral and written communication skills is required
