The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all project communications activities and assisting in data collection and documentation of HCSM interventions and successes/results.
S/he will work with the lead communications person to develop communications products and c oordinate the production of communications products.
S/he will work with the HCSM project staff to identify, collect data, produce and edit results stories that promote the achievements and visibility of the project. In addition, s/he will update the catalogue of project products and track completion, ensuring proper archiving for institutional memory.
The Communications Coordinator will assist in public relations and communications events which include working with journalists and media houses to ensuring accurate and timely coverage of HCSM activities as well as appropriate branding and marking for the project and donor.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public policy, international development or related field with at least 2 years of relevant working experience. S/he should have excellent writing and editing skills with excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
Experience working in the development sector, working with the Ministries of Health or other government entities, and/or writing reports for USAID-funded projects is highly desirable.
The successful candidate should have experience writing press releases and/or training with professional-level photography skills and/or graphic design abilities. Strong administrative and computer proficiency is desirable. S/he should be willing to travel within Kenya.
