Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated USAID early grade reading project in the West Bank. The project aims to enhance learning outcomes for Palestinian children at the primary level by improving Arabic reading instruction and supporting enhanced policies and practices at the government, community, and school levels. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee project implementation and take a leadership role in coordination among USAID, key stakeholders, and other implementing partners
  • Interact with numerous Ministry of Education and Higher Education officials


  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in education, social sciences, or other relevant field from an accredited university
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing and implementing education reform programs in developing countries, preferably in implementing national scaleup of activities
  • High level of interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills, including an ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of public sector counterparts, donors, and other key stakeholders
  • Outstanding strategic and managerial skills
  • Experience in education policy reform, teacher proficiency development, and education program monitoring, valuation, and learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Experience in the West Bank highly desired
  • English and Arabic fluency required
