Chemonics seeks multiple book supply chain and reading material short-term consultants for the anticipated USAID Global Book Alliance (GBA) in Action activity. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct primary research and desk reviews to analyze a given country’s book supply chain, including inventories of existing reading materials by language
  • Develop partnerships to identify and address opportunities and constraints in national book supply chains
  • Conduct virtual or in-person workshops, based on mission demand, on book-chain topics relevant to a particular country or context
  • Lead training and professional development for stakeholders related to integrating book-chain initiatives into education programming
  • Develop guidance for use of GBA resources
  • Author, edit, and distribute reports, including practice briefs on addressing frequently identified book supply chain gaps

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s or Ph.D. preferred
  • At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in education, reading material development, and/or educational supply chain management
  • Experience with USAID or donor-funded project preferred
  • Experience working in complex, challenging environments, including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage diverse professional relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • English fluency required; French, Spanish, or Portuguese proficiency preferred
