DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Head / Technical Coordination and GFCS support unit (TCG) and Head / Regional Strategy Office (RSO), the incumbent will provide the following deliverables:

(a) Final SMA strategic plan for 2024-2027 (Seychelles, 20 days);

(b) Evaluation and documentation of lessons learned from previous strategic documents, recommendations for updating of the MMS strategic plan, on the basis of Strategic Directions 2023-2026 (Mauritius, including one mission, 30 days);

(c) Initial advice to Ghana Hydrological Authority and Ghana Meteorological Agency in relation with collaboration, delivery of innovative services to users, and strategic planning (Ghana; 12 days);

(d) Update of the NSP/ QMS spreadsheet and organize a meeting with Members of the community of practice on strategic planning and quality management systems (Global, 3 days);

(e) Carry out other relevant duties as required.

In addition, the consultant will also provide:

(a) Inception report, with detailed methodology and plan, mid-April;

(b) Mid-term report, mid July;

(c) Final Report with links to all deliverables and detailed recommendations for follow-up, mid-December.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Degree in meteorology, business administration or a field relevant to supporting NMHSs strategic planning.

Experience
15 years of experience in supporting strategic planning and other institutional aspects of NMHSs, preferably with Seychelles, Mauritius and/or Ghana.

Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.

(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
Additional Information:
SALARY: 620-750$ net of tax per day.
