About IRRI The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippine government. Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change. Integrated with the Rice Breeding Innovations Department/Product Development and Variety Replacement/Breeding Operations, the Zeigler Experiment Station (ZES) provides operation support services to the research programs within IRRI HQ, which includes equipment rental for land preparation, irrigation systems, crop protection, postharvest services, controlled-environment facilities, field/grounds maintenance, and provision of seasonal labor.
Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Associate Manager for Crop Production and Field Operation, this position performs operations and support services related to crop protection, pest management, and/or vertebrate control for quality assurance and efficient use of resources. As necessary, this position also supports training and research activities and ensures that protocols and regulations are being adhered to.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baรฑos, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.
